Bella Vista is a
city of around 30,000 people living in foothills of the Arkansas Ozark
Mountains. Extensive hardwood forests (primarily
Oak/Hickory) weave through the neighborhoods as "common ground",
providing space and privacy to homeowners as well as shelter to large
populations of wild deer, squirrels, birds, and other native species.
A drive around Bella Vista displays the careful consideration the
natural environment and geography has been given in the planning and
implementation of this lovely community in Northwest Arkansas.

Bella Vista has a
rich history, albeit a short one, as it began as a vacation resort
area in the early 1900s (rather like the resort featured in the movie
"Dirty Dancing). You can learn more about our history from the
early years to the present by clicking
here. In the early 1960's
visionary John Cooper Sr. of Cooper Communities Inc, saw it's
potential as a planned residential destination for thousands of new
residents seeking an active retirement lifestyle and began creating
Bella Vista Village.
Today, Bella Vista, though still a popular destination for retirees, it's also become a bedroom community for those who work in Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, Fayetteville or Southwest Missouri. We've very little commercial ventures of our own, but we do have safe neighborhoods, natural beauty and wildlife, large treed lots, hundreds of acres of wooded common ground, some of the best and most numerous amenities of any city in the United States and wonderful friendly people. Families who work in Northwest Arkansas are finding that Bella Vista is a fun, safe place to raise their families.
The Bella Vista Property Owner's Association (POA), supported by our monthly dues, oversees 7 Golf Courses, 7 Lakes, 4 Club Houses, an RV park, a marina, 3 swimming pools, 2 putt putt golf courses, 3 playgrounds, tennis courts, 2 workout facilities, miles of walking trails, a dog park, and a ball park...all for the use of the POA members and their guests.
Many of the activities cost for those who use them (golf, swimming pools, work out facilities) but costs are reasonable for the most part, with the purchase of a yearly photo ID Activity Card.
